This 4" Croaking Frog Guiro is a fun, fairly traded percussion instrument, carved from acacia wood found in northern Thailand. Run the provided stick along its ridges from rear to front to make it croak, or hit it on the head to create a ‘pock’ sound. It’s a unique gift for any musician!
Our small frog guiro offers a playful sound and has been available for over 10 years. The production process begins with hand-carving the rough frog shape, followed by sanding, drilling, and product testing to ensure top-quality sound. Once it passes, it's further sanded and placed in a drying kiln powered by leftover wood from the carving process. After drying, the frog is stained and painted using spraying and hand-painting techniques for extra detail. Finally, it's quality-checked and carefully packaged to ensure you receive a great product.

Yes, different sizes of the frog guiro can produce variations in sound. Larger guiros generally have a deeper, richer tone, while smaller ones offer a higher-pitched sound.
Keep the guiro away from direct sunlight and humidity to prevent damage. It should be oiled at least once a year to maintain its condition.
It's recommended to use the thicker end of the scraper when playing the guiro, although either side can be used based on personal preference. During our time in Thailand, we were told we were playing it the "wrong" way, but both sides produce great sound.
