This Miniature Croaking Frog Guiro is a fairly traded percussion instrument, hand-carved from acacia wood in northern Thailand. Despite its tiny size, it still produces a gentle croaking sound when the included stick is scraped along its ridges from back to front. Tapping it on the head creates a light ‘click’ sound. It's a quirky and delightful gift for music lovers and collectors!
Our miniature frog guiro has been a customer favourite for years thanks to its cute size and soft, playful tone. The production process begins with hand-carving the compact frog shape, followed by detailed sanding, precise drilling, and careful sound testing. After passing quality checks, it’s dried in a kiln that uses scrap wood from the carving process, then stained and painted with a combination of spray and hand-detailing. Each one is individually inspected and packaged with care.

Yes, the smallest frog guiro produces a higher pitched tone than larger guiros.
Keep the guiro away from direct sunlight and humidity to prevent damage. It should be oiled at least once a year to maintain its condition.
It's recommended to use the thicker end of the scraper when playing the guiro, although either side can be used based on personal preference. During our time in Thailand, we were told we were playing it the "wrong" way, but both sides produce great sound.
